Welcome to TRIPS

TRIPS is a canoe club based in Kamloops, BC and serving the south central interior (Thompson, Okanagan, Shuswap, Nicola, Similkameen, etc.) We offer recreational canoeing and marathon canoe racing programs. We have a compound with club equipment located at Pioneer Park in Kamloops including a variety of canoes, both for marathon, and  recreational paddling. We also have several large voyageur style  canoes which we use commonly for youth and community programming.

We are open to members of all skill sets and interests including participation by kayakers and stand up paddle boarders. We run weekly evening paddling sessions, day trips, courses, and clinics from April to October each year. Yearly membership fees include dozens of paddling sessions, occasional day trips and events, and the use of our equipment for official club activities. For more information on the current membership dues, please visit the “Join Trips/Forms Page“.  If you are an experienced paddler and would like to volunteer to lead trips we would be happy to help you get the training to do so.

If you are new to paddling then our Learn to Paddle series starting early in the spring is a great place to start. You will receive training from our fully certified instructors on basic paddle strokes, maneuvers, on the water safety, rescues, proper use of equipment and more.  Please contact our president Keiran Rankin if you are interested in joining. Like and follow our Facebook Page for regular updates and pictures from our programs and outings.
