TRIPS welcomes kayakers, Stand Up Paddle Boards, and canoes!

TRIPS is primarily a canoe club, and we do not have club kayaks or SUPS for people to use.

Members or guests who have their own kayaks or SUPs are welcome to bring them to the meet-up/launch spot and join us on the outing as long as all required safety measures are followed. Some of our volunteer leaders such as Darryl and Keiran do have personal kayaks and may be able to offer you some personal coaching on request.

Kayaks vary from racing shells to sea kayaks to recreational (Costco Pelicans) boats and white water kayaks too.   The challenge with the smaller boats such as Pelican kayaks is that they are slower and may not be able to keep up on a group paddle. TRIPS can accommodate larger kayaks such as sea kayaks if you would like to join a flat water or very easy river trips. Stronger kayakers with good experience and a longer seaworthy boat can join in almost any outing. White water kayaks are also welcome on our more advanced river trips as long as you have the necessary skills a nd follow all our safety protocols.
